This shirt is advertised as a T-shirt and that is pretty much what you get. The fabric is 60% cotton 40% polyester and the same thickness as a lightweight T-shirt. The cotton/poly blend fabric has most of the softness of cotton but dries faster than cotton and does not shrink as much as cotton after machine washing and drying. I purchased size medium fits me with a comfortable relaxed fit (some T-shirts are baggy on me, this one is a little trimmer).
