Mens Olive Green Hooded Duffle Wool Coat

Lost a fair bit of weight since last winter and none of my old coats fit anymore, they all hang off me. Treated myself to this as a bit of a reward. Went down to a medium for the first time in years and it fits perfectly. Smart enough for work, warm enough for the weekend. Got a bit emotional putting it on the first time, not going to lie.

Bought this for my son-in-law last Christmas and he's just got it back out of the wardrobe this week. Still looks brand new after a winter of wear. He told me it's the best thing I've ever bought him, which is saying something.

Look after my two grandchildren a couple of days a week and that means a lot of standing about in the playground pushing swings. My old jacket was useless. This one keeps me warm right down to the thighs and the pockets hold all their bits, snacks, gloves, a spare hat. The little one says I look like a bear with the hood up. I'll take that. Good solid coat.

The little hidden flap behind the toggles is what I didn't expect. Stops the wind getting through the gaps, which was always the problem with duffles I've had before. Warm, comfy and doesn't look like a school coat. Very pleased with it overall.

Brother-in-law has one and kept saying it was the best coat he'd owned so I finally gave in. He wasn't wrong. Fits me well across the shoulders and the length covers my backside, which matters in this weather. Should've listened to him last year.

Bit of a wool smell when I first unpacked it, not unpleasant, just strong. Hung it by the window for a couple of days and it went. Once that settled it's been excellent. Warm, fits as expected and the cuff straps actually do something, they stop the cold going up my sleeves when I'm cycling in. Docking a star for the smell but it's a good coat.

Colour is a bit more muted in person, more of a khaki than the brighter green I saw on my phone. Actually goes with more of my clothes like that so I'm not complaining. Good weight, well stitched and keeps the cold out.

Wore it to an outdoor carol service with the family last December and stood in the cold for well over an hour. Everyone else was stamping their feet and I was absolutely fine. Afterwards we went for a walk and a hot chocolate and I didn't want to take it off. It's soft round the neck, doesn't scratch at all, and looks smart enough that my mum approved, which is rare.
