Sleeves came to exactly the right place on me which almost never happens because I have long arms. Usually I am stuck between too short and hanging over my hands. Did not have to get anything altered which saved me the usual hassle and cost.

Sits a good bit lower than I expected, past mid thigh on me and I am not short. Took a while to get used to it. It does mean your legs stay warm so I have come round to it, but check the measurments if you want something shorter.

We had a proper cold snap not long after it arrived and I was out in it for a couple of hours clearing the drive and walking to the shop. Snow sat on the shoulders rather than soaking straight in, and I shook it off at the door. Hands were the only cold part of me. For a coat rather than a technical jacket that is about as good as I could hope for.

This is my second winter in it and it looks the same as it did new. No pilling under the arms, no sagging at the pockets, and the toggles have all stayed put. I wear it most days from November through to March so it has had plenty of use. Had it cleaned once at the end of last season and it came back fine.

Neckline sits high enough that a scarf tucks in properly instead of bunching up under your chin. Sounds trivial until you have a coat where it does not work. Been wearing it most mornings since.

Grab it, pull it on, done. No zip to fight with when your hands are cold. That is why I reach for this over the other coats hanging next to it.

One thing I like is you can keep it on for a bit inside without overheating immediately. Went into a cafe and did not have to strip it off straight away. Undo the top fastening and you are fine. Sounds minor but it makes a diffrence on errands.

Bought it a size up on purpose so he could get a thick jumper underneath and that was the right call. No pulling across the back when he layers. He has worn it out twice already and said he did not need a scarf either time.
