Women's Asymmetrical Black Peplum Leather Jacket

I never write reviews but i feel like i owe this jacket one because it's genuinely one of the best things i've bought online. the peplum flare caught my eye in the photos but in person it's even more dramatic and beautiful. the leather is smooth and real. the asymmetric zip has an edge to it that i love. fit is flattering. silver hardware is solid. the black is deep and consistent. ten out of ten.

I recognize that calling a jacket life-changing sounds unhinged so let me explain. i have been trying to find a piece that felt both edgy and feminine without being either too costume-y or too corporate. everything i tried was one or the other. this jacket is both at the same time in a way i didn't think was achievable at this price point. the peplum flare is the thing that does it. the upper half is all moto energy, asymmetric zip, silver hardware, angular lapels with snaps. and then the waist hits and the leather flares out into this dramatic swinging hem that softens the whole thing without removing any of the attitude. the leather itself is smooth and real. it has a slight weight and movement that faux leather just can't replicate. the black is deep and even all the way through. it fits correctly through the bodice, which is important for this silhouette because the flare needs to start at the right point. i've worn this jacket more times in the past three weeks than i've worn most of my other jackets in the past year. my sister is getting one.

The photos are genuinely good for this jacket. they show the asymmetric zip and the peplum hem and the silver hardware. but what the photos cannot show you is what it's like to actually walk in this jacket. the peplum swings. like actually swings and moves with every step. it creates a silhouette and a presence that is hard to describe in writing and impossible to capture in a still image. when i tried it on for the first time in my apartment i walked back and forth past the mirror for about ten minutes. the leather is soft and smooth right away. no stiffness, no break-in period. the black is the kind of deep black that looks expensive. the asymmetric zip runs from a low right point up toward the left shoulder in a way that creates this really interesting diagonal line across the body. all the secondary zips on the chest and at the sides are silver and well-constructed. nothing caught, nothing pulled, nothing felt cheap. the fit is structured through the torso and then flares at the hip which is exactly right for this silhouette. this jacket is a reason to get dressed.

Wore this to a gallery opening and got stopped four times. the shape of it is just so different from a normal jacket. the flared hem moves beautifully when you walk. black leather and silver hardware. everything about it just works.

This jacket has the best silhouette i've ever put on. the peplum bottom is dramatic in the best way. my only issue is the shoulders ran slightly wide for me. everything else is great. the zippers and hardware feel solid. stunning jacket overall.
