Women's Burgundy Wool Coat – Faux Fur Shawl Collar

Had a run of evening things over Christmas and wore this over a dress to all of them. It does not crush the shoulders of whatever is underneath and it does not look like you have thrown a work coat over a nice outfit, which is the problem with most of mine. Handed it in at a cloakroom twice and it came back fine both times.

Long enough that nothing sticks out underneath, which was my main worry because I wear dresses to work most days and half my coats are too short for that. Goes over a blazer as well without feeling tight. Straightforward and it does the job.

You can push the collar up and it stays there rather than flopping straight back down. Makes a real difference when the wind picks up. Also looks quite different worn that way which is basically two coats for the price of one.

From the pictures I thought it would be one of those coats that pins your shoulders down after an hour. It is not. There is warmth in it without the weight, and you can carry it over your arm without it being a burden. Pleasantly surprised by that.

Waited for a discount because I was buying it for my wife and did not know if it would fit, and at the reduced price the risk felt smaller. It arrived and fitted first time so the caution was wasted. What I will say is I would have been happy at the full price too, having seen what turned up. She has worn it more than any coat she has owned and keeps telling me I did well.

Was expecting to find bits all over my clothes after the first wear because that is what usually happens. There has been almost none. I gave it a shake outside before the first outing and that seemed to be enough. Two months on and my black tops are fine.

Ordered this specifically for a party and a couple of dinners over the new year and it did everything I needed. Warm enough for standing outside at midnight, smart enough that I did not want to take it off the moment I got indoors. It has carried on being worn well past the occasion I bought it for, which I did not expect at all when I ordered it.

I am aware two months is not long enough to say much about how something will last, so take this for what it is. What I can tell you is that after sixty days of daily wear there is no bobbling on the sleeves, nothing has come loose, and it still hangs the same way it did on day one. I will come back if that changes but the early signs are as good as I could ask for.
