      Took it away with me
      Paulina Wozniak

      Verified buyer

Packed it for four days away and it was the only outer layer I took, which was a gamble. It worked out. Folded into the case without coming out looking wrecked, and a night on a hanger sorted what creasing there was. Smart enough for dinner, warm enough for walking about in the morning. That is a lot to ask from one coat and it managed all of it.

      Hands fit in properly
      Agnes Tremayne

      Verified buyer

Pockets are deep enough to actually put your hands in and keep them there, not those shallow decorative things that stop at the knuckle. I use them constantly when I have forgotten gloves, which is most days. Sounds obvious but so many coats get it wrong.

      Stands up at the neck
      Norah Quintrell

      Verified buyer

The collar holds its shape when you turn it up instead of collapsing back down after two minutes. Makes a noticable difference on a windy day. I do it up and turn the collar and I do not need a scarf until it gets really cold.

      Works if you are tall
      Charlene Ferraro

      Verified buyer

I am five ten and short coats are usually a disaster on me, they end up looking cropped and the sleeves stop somewhere near my forearm. This one comes down far enough and the sleeves reach my wrist properly. I ordered my normal size rather than sizing up and it was right. If you are tall and have given up on this shape it is worth another go.

      Not a straight cut
      Carol

      Verified buyer

There is proper shaping through the middle so it follows you rather than hanging off like a sack. I am not slim and I still look like I have a waist in it, which I cannot say about the last three I owned.

      Happy enough
      Dot

      Verified buyer

Does what I needed it to do and I have no complaints about any of it. Arrived quickly, fits, keeps me warm. Not much else you can ask really. Pleased with it.

      Third winter coming
      Greta Villanueva

      Verified buyer

Bought this two winters ago and I am about to start a third in it, which is why I am only writing now. It has been dry cleaned twice, rained on more times than I can count, and shoved into the back of a car boot repeatedly. The shape is still there, the buttons are all original, and the only sign of age is a slight softening of the fabric which I actually prefer. That is a proper result.

      Wind does not get in
      Nessa

      Verified buyer

The overlap at the front is the thing here. There is no single seam for the wind to push through the way there is with a zip or a single row of buttons, so you stay warm even when it is blowing sideways. I noticed it the first properly windy day and have thought about it every time since. It is the reason I went for this shape rather than something more modern.

      Fine for the school day
      Judith Marlowe

      Verified buyer

I teach and I am in and out of a cold playground about four times a day, then back into a room with the heating on full. Most coats are wrong for one half of that. This one goes on and off easily, does not take up half the staffroom hook, and is warm enough for duty without cooking me the moment I come inside. It has also survived being landed on by small children more than once.

      No loop at the collar
      Belinda

      Verified buyer

Only thing I would change is there is no little hanging loop inside the collar, so it goes on a hanger or nowhere. Sounds petty until you are somewhere with only hooks on the wall. Everything else about it has been very good and it has not put me off wearing it every day.

      Bought for my niece
      Clifford Hensley

      Verified buyer

My niece was starting a new job and needed something decent to turn up in, so I got her this. She sent me a photo the first morning which I take as a good sign. Fit her without any altering and she tells me its been on every day since.

      No static from the lining
      Annika Sundberg

      Verified buyer

My last coat used to give me a shock every time I took it off and made my hair stand up. This one does not do that at all. Sounds like a strange thing to review but if you have had a coat like that you will know exactly what I mean.

      Feels substantial
      Fabienne Duclos

      Verified buyer

Picked it up out of the box and it has real weight to it. Nothing flimsy about the fabric or the way it is put together. That was the first good sign.

      Shoulder seams line up
      Louisa Berkeley

      Verified buyer

Seam sits exactly on the edge of my shoulder rather than halfway down my arm. That one thing changes how the whole coat looks on you and it is the reason most things off a website look wrong. This one got it right without any altering.

      Enough for a cold day
      Joyce

      Verified buyer

Warm for most of what I need it for but I would not call it a deep winter coat on its own. Below freezing I want a jumper under it. For everything else it has been plenty and I would rather that than something I overheat in.
