Saw a woman wearing one on a train platform and spent the whole journey trying to work out how to ask her about it without sounding strange. In the end I did ask, at the barriers, and she was lovely about it and told me where it was from. Ordered mine that evening. It has since happened to me twice from the other side, which I now understand completely. Whoever she was, thank you.

Both of the outside pockets are properly deep and set at a height where your hands actually go without you having to reach down. Gloves, phone, keys all fit and nothing falls out when you sit. I have stopped taking a bag on short trips.

The buttons are matt and the same tone as the fabric rather than being gold or contrast, which with a coat this loud is the only sensible choice. No branding anywhere on the outside either. Everything about the finishing is quiet and the fabric does all the talking.

Winter wedding, outdoor photographs, and the bride had asked people not to wear black which narrowed my options considerably. This solved the whole problem. Warm enough that I was not shivering through the group shots and bright enough that it did not look like I had thrown a work coat over the outfit. I am in most of the photographs and I do not mind that for once. Has been worn constantly since.
