Camel shows the quilting on the shoulders far better than a dark jacket would. You can actually see the diamonds from across a room. Arrived in four days, well packed.

Balanced view. It is a very good jacket and I wear it constantly, but two honest points for anyone deciding. A pale waxed leather picks up handling marks in the first few weeks before the finish settles, and the cut is genuinely slim so there is no layering under it. Neither has put me off, and the leather is far better than the price suggests.

Came three days ahead of the estimate, packed flat in a bag inside a box with tissue in both sleeves. Nothing had creased. I went over the edges of the quilted panels because on a light colour any uneven stitching would show, and it is clean.

Sizing came out accurate at a 40 chest in the medium. It sits close the way this shape is supposed to and the sleeves are slim through the forearm. Over a tee there is room to move, and over a shirt it is snug but perfectly fine.

The thing nobody mentions about a light coloured leather jacket is how much better it photographs. My husband's black one disappears into a dark blob in every picture, and this one actually has shape and texture in a photo. Five months on and we now have more pictures of him wearing this jacket than of him in anything else he owns.

One thing to flag. The chest zips sit fairly high and are shallow, so a phone will not fit in either of them. The hip pockets are deep enough for anything. Everything else about the jacket has been exactly right for the money.

Band collar with a snap tab so there is nothing at the neck to catch or flap. Second order from here and the measurements came out identical to my first.

My partner had been describing a tan cafe racer with sleeve stripes for the better part of a year and every one we found was either orange or a plasticky imitation.
