The two flap pockets are lined and deep, and both buttons are stitched through rather than tacked on top. I put keys in one and a phone in the other and neither sags or pulls the front of the jacket out of shape.

This has become the jacket I put on without thinking about it. Driving, the pub, walking into town, one dinner where I left it open over a shirt. It works across all of that because the shape is familiar without being fancy dress. Six months and the only change is that the elbows have creased and the leather has gone softer where I bend.

Shape is straight out of an old flight jacket, big collar and ribbing top and bottom. Nothing modern about it and that is why I bought it. Fits me true at a large.

I have wanted a proper flight jacket shape for years and everything I found was either a costume reproduction or a cropped modern bomber with a knit collar. This is neither. The pointed collar, the yoke seam and the dense ribbing at both ends give it the old silhouette while the clean black finish keeps it wearable. Four months in, the leather has softened across the shoulders and the knit has not lost any grip.

I am short in the body with wide shoulders and bombers usually swamp me or stop too high. This one has the waistband sitting right at my hip rather than above it, and the yoke gives enough width that the medium worked without alteration. The sleeves needed nothing taken up, which for me almost never happens with anything off the peg.

Bought in a sale and it is better made than a jacket I paid nearly twice as much for a few years back. The zip is heavy, the lining goes right round to the hem, and the knit is proper ribbing rather than something thin and stretchy.

Flap pockets with a button rather than open slash pockets. Keeps everything in place when I lean over the boot of the car. Simple thing, but it matters to me daily.

Second jacket from this site and the measurements matched exactly again. This one is the smarter of the two I own, mostly because the finish is clean and even rather than distressed.
