Men's Cognac Waxed Biker Style Jacket - Striped Sleeves

The waxed finish has depth to it, lighter across the panels where it catches the light and darker down in the seams. In a photograph it reads as flat brown. In person there is a good deal more going on than that.

This has become the jacket I pull off the hook without thinking about it. Weekends, driving, one evening out where I left it open over a shirt. It works because the stripe gives it character without being loud about it. Six months of steady wear and the only change is that the leather has softened where I bend at the elbow.

Quilted panels on the shoulders give it a bit of shape. Not padded, just stitched through. My girlfriend says it looks like something out of an old motor racing photo.

The racing stripe is what separates this from every other brown jacket I looked at. It runs down the outside of each sleeve in cream and it has not discoloured at all in three months, which was the thing I was most unsure about before ordering.

Not a cold weather jacket on its own. It is a single leather layer with a smooth lining and a slim cut, so layering is limited. From September through November it has been right and after that it goes under a heavier coat.

My brother borrowed this for a weekend and then ordered one himself, so we now own a matching pair which is faintly embarrassing. His is a size up and it fits him the same way mine fits me, so the grading is consistent. The thing he pointed out that I had missed is that the shoulder quilting stops the seam creasing where a bag strap sits.

This replaced a plain brown jacket I had worn for about seven years until the lining went at the arms. The upgrade I did not expect is the collar, because the old one had a wide lapel that flapped in any wind and this has a band that snaps shut instead. Four months in and the only mark on it is a scuff by the pocket that has blended in.

Cuffs zip open properly rather than being decorative. I can get them over a watch without a fight. Second order from here and the sizing was identical to the first one.
