Men's Olive Green Cafe Racer Leather Jacket

Ordered this as a birthday present for my son and was nervous because a colour is a risk when you are buying for someone else. It turned out to be far more wearable than I expected from the listing photos, closer to a dark military shade than anything bright. He has worn it to two gigs and a family dinner already.

The pocket layout is what sold me. Two zips at the chest and two at the waist, all lined, so everything has a place and nothing falls out when I lean forward. I have stopped carrying a bag for short trips because of it.

I already own two black jackets and did not want a third, so the olive was the deciding factor. It is dark enough that nobody treats it as a statement, but it is clearly not black, and that is the whole difference for me.

Not warm on its own once it drops properly cold. It is one layer of leather with a thin lining and a slim cut, so there is not much room to put anything underneath. September through November it has been spot on for me.

My husband and his friend ended up with the same jacket in different sizes after the friend saw his, which is mildly ridiculous but says something. They fit the same way on two quite different builds, so the grading seems to be done properly. The one thing they both mention is that the collar snap actually holds rather than popping open.

Band collar snaps shut at the throat so nothing flaps about in wind. No wide lapels on it anywhere. My brother ordered one in his own size the week after seeing mine.

This replaced a black jacket I had worn for about eight years until the lining tore at both arms. Going green after that long in black felt like a risk and it has turned out to be the best thing about it. Four months in and the only mark on it is a scuff near one pocket that blended into the finish within a fortnight.

Sizing came out true for me at a 40 chest in the medium. It is a biker cut so it sits close through the body and the sleeves are slim. Over a tee or a thin shirt it is right, over a jumper it would be a stretch.
