Bennie Men's Black Hooded Duffle Wool Coat

At my age I know what a good duffle should look like and this ticks every box. Toggles on leather look patches, a yoke over the shoulders, deep patch pockets and a hood with a checked lining. Wore it to church on Sunday and two people asked about it. Very pleased.

Took nearly two weeks to arrive, which tested my patience as the cold snap had already started. Once it came though, no complaints about the coat itself. Fit was true to size, the shoulders sit right and the toggles feel sturdy. Knocked a star off for the wait only.

Took the kids sledging during the big snowfall and stayed warm the whole afternoon. Hood up, toggles done, nothing got in. It is heavy but honestly that is kind of the point with a coat like this.

wearing this across campus every day this term. walks between lectures are ten minutes in the open and its the first coat that keeps the wind out properly. hood up, toggles done, hands in the pockets and im fine. got a couple of comments from people asking where it was from too.

Skeptical at first because I have bought wool coats online before that turned out thin. This is not one of those. Thick, dense and genuinely warm through the worst of January. The checked lining in the hood looks smart when it is down too. Already recommending it to my brother.

For our tenth anniversary I wanted to give my husband something he would actually use every day, not another gadget. He had mentioned duffle coats a few times so I took a chance. The size chart was helpful and I ordered a large based on his chest measurement, which turned out to be right. He wore it out to dinner that night over a sweater and looked really handsome. Months later it is still the coat he grabs first.

It is fine. Warm, well made, the hood is decent. I found the sleeves too long even after doing up the cuff tabs and had to get them shortened, which added to the cost. The fit through the body is quite boxy as well. Not bad, just not quite what I hoped for.

Excellent coat overall. My only gripe is the toggles. With thick gloves on they took some practice and the first week I just took a glove off to do them up. Now it is second nature. Warm enough that I have skipped my usual extra layer most mornings.
