Men's Black Real Lambskin Leather Trucker Jacket – Sherpa Lined

I live aboard a narrowboat and the cold gets into everything between November and March. This is the first thing I've owned that I can put on straight out of a cold cabin and be warm immediately rather than waiting ten minutes for it to catch up. It goes over the top of a jumper and I can still work the ropes in it. Five months of that and the lining hasn't matted or flattened anywhere.

It got properly soaked in a downpour once and took the best part of two days to dry out fully, which is the one thing I'd flag. The outside was fine within hours, it's the lining that holds it. Hang it somewhere warm and be patient. Everything else is excellent.

The collar turns up and there's a button at the throat that holds it there, which is the detail that makes the difference on a windy day. Most of them just flop back down. Fits my usual size over a jumper and it was warm immediately.

I lend it to nobody now because a mate borrowed it twice and started asking for it every weekend. Ended up telling him to buy his own, which he did. Fits my normal size and it's been warm from day one with nothing to break in.

The lining picks up sawdust and hay and anything else fibrous, and it takes more than a brush to get out of it properly. I'm in a workshop most days so that's on me. Worth knowing if you work around anything loose. Warm and well made otherwise.

The buttons are metal and one of them worked slightly loose after about two months. Two minutes with a needle and thread and it's been solid since. Worth checking them occasionally. Beyond that it's the warmest thing I own and it fits properly through the shoulders.

I mark out pitches on a sports ground and that's two hours a morning walking backwards in the cold pushing a line marker. This has been the difference between dreading it and not minding it. Warm standing still, which is the only real test, and it doesn't ride up my back when I'm bent over. It's had grass, paint and mud on it and everything has brushed or wiped off. Five months and it looks the same.
