Men's Black Shirt Collar Leather Jacket - Harrington Style

I looked at a lot of black jackets before this one and the collar decided it. Most of them have gone to a small band or a tiny point, and I wanted something with the proper long collar that sits on the chest. This has it. Five months in the leather has softened where I bend, the zip runs cleanly, and the collar still lies flat rather than curling at the tips.

Hand pockets are not lined very deeply so keys tend to sit high in them. Minor thing. The collar and the fit are exactly what I hoped for and the zip is solid.

No chest pockets on this and I think that is the right call. It keeps the front completely clean so nothing breaks up the leather. Two slash pockets at the hip are all I ever actually use anyway, and both of them are deep enough.

I am short in the body with wide shoulders, which usually means a jacket hangs past my hips or strangles me across the back. This one has the hem band sitting right at my belt and enough room across the shoulders that the medium worked without alteration. The sleeves needed nothing taken up either, which for me is close to unheard of.

Sizing came out true at a 42 chest in the large. There is room for a shirt and a thin jumper under it without the zip pulling anywhere. The sleeves end at my wrist and the shoulder seam lands where it should rather than halfway down my arm.

Got it for my brother who had been wearing a fabric jacket in cold weather and complaining about it constantly. He has not mentioned the cold once since. He also says the collar is the part that makes it, which I would not have predicted.

The band at the hem is what stops it looking like a shirt in leather. It pulls the bottom in so the jacket holds a shape rather than hanging straight down, and after four months of wear that band has not stretched or gone slack at all.

Slash pockets at the hips, nothing on the chest, no studs anywhere on it. Clean front. That is the whole appeal for me and it goes with everything I already own.
