Men's 3/4 Length Burgundy Waxed Leather Coat

Five months in and my husband has worn it through an entire autumn. The burgundy has not faded, the buttons are all still firm, and the lining has not pulled at the arm. The hem has kept its shape rather than going wavy.

Ordered this for my husband because he wanted colour and I did not trust him not to pick something garish. Burgundy was the right call. It is dark enough to be taken seriously and interesting enough that people ask about it.

Two closures is more useful than it sounds. Zipped it is windproof for walking, buttoned only it hangs looser and looks more like a coat than outerwear. I use one or the other depending on where I am going that day.

Black buttons and black zips against the burgundy is what makes it look considered. If the hardware on it had been silver the whole thing would have looked a good deal cheaper.

Balanced take. It is an excellent coat and I wear it constantly, but two things are worth knowing. There is a lot of leather here so it weighs more than a short jacket, and burgundy is not a neutral, so it will not go with everything in a wardrobe. Neither would stop me ordering it again, and the build is well past the price.

Worth flagging that it is heavier than a short jacket, simply because there is more leather in it. My husband notices it by the end of a long day out. He still wears it constantly, but it is not a throw on and forget garment.

The chest zip is small and set quite high, good for a card and not much else. The hip zips are far deeper though. The lining is black, which suits the colour nicely.

The waist seam running across the front stops it hanging like a sack, which is the risk at this length. It gives the coat a bit of shape without making it fitted. Small construction detail that changes how the whole thing sits.
