The beige panel down the front is what made me click. It breaks up the brown without looking fussy and it has not marked up yet, which was my one worry.

Third thing I have bought here across two years and nothing has disappointed yet. The stitching is neat where the two colours meet, which is exactly where I would expect a cheaper jacket to go wrong first. No loose threads anywhere on it either.

My daughter borrowed it before I had worn it twice and I had to ask for it back. She is a size smaller and it still looked good on her, so the cut is not fussy about exact measurements. That says something about the shape.

I work outside part of the day and this has handled early mornings well. Not warm on its own in deep cold but with a fleece underneath it is fine. It also wipes clean, which matters more in my job than it might for others.

I looked at plain brown jackets for weeks and kept finding them boring, then found this and the contrast panel solved it. It is a small detail but it lifts the whole thing. Fit is generous enough to layer, the length covers the hip, and after three months of steady wear there is no cracking or loose stitching anywhere on it.

I am short waisted and expected the seam placement to look wrong on me. It does not. The shaping sits where it should and the extra length below it actually balances me out rather than swamping me the way I had feared.

Wearing this two or three times a week since November. The elbows have creased, the cuffs have softened, and the beige has not gone grey or yellow. That last part was the thing I checked every few weeks at the start.

It is heavier than the thin jackets I have owned and I think that is exactly why it hangs so well. Nothing sags or bunches at the hem. It looks structured without feeling like armour when you are actually out wearing it.
