    Frequently Asked Questions

    1. What is the exact wool percentage in this coat?

This coat is crafted from a 65% wool / 35% polyester blend, designed to provide warmth while enhancing durability and long-term shape retention.

    2. Where is this coat manufactured?

Our coats are produced in specialised outerwear workshops in South Asia, where skilled teams ensure precise stitching, clean lining construction, and strong button reinforcement.

    3. Is this coat warm enough for winter?

Yes. Our High-Density Wool Blend is made to retain heat while remaining breathable. It’s ideal for everyday winter wear and layers well over sweaters for colder temperatures.

    4. How do I choose the right size using your size chart?

Use the Chest/Bust measurement as your primary reference. Measure around the fullest part of your chest and match it with the chart. If you're between sizes, opt for the larger size for comfort.

    5. Why are your prices so low?

We operate on a Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) model. Most retail coats carry 3–4x markups to cover middlemen, wholesale margins, store overhead, and costly retail operations. By working directly with our workshop partners and shipping directly to you, we keep costs lean and pass the savings to you. The result is a coat built like a 400 retail piece, priced under 200.

      Works with a hoodie
      Eddie

      Verified buyer

Would not have guessed it but a hood coming out over the collar looks completely fine with this, better than it does with a fitted coat. The relaxed cut is what makes it work. Wear it that way at weekends and the other way for work and it does not look like the same coat.

      Charity shop original
      Mac

      Verified buyer

I have been looking for one of these second hand for about three years because the old ones were made properly and the new ones mostly are not. Never found one in my size that had not been worn to death. Gave up and bought this instead and it is honestly close enough. The cloth is not quite the same weight as a nineteen sixties one but everything else about it is right.

      Work then pub
      Ingram Boyce

      Verified buyer

Over a suit into the office and then straight out afterwards without it looking like the office coat, which is a specific thing I wanted and did not think I would find. The relaxed shape helps because it does not read as formal on its own. Been doing that most Fridays and it has not let me down onece.

      Parka has been retired
      Milo Trantham

      Verified buyer

Wore a parka for eleven years because it was warm and I had stopped thinking about it. This has replaced it entirely and I am slightly annoyed at how much better I feel walking down the street. It is warm enough for everything short of actual snow, it does not rustle, and it does not make me look like I am about to go camping. The parka is in the loft and I do not expect to get it down.

      Seams are clean
      Stanhope Beal

      Verified buyer

Went over the whole thing when it arrived, inside and out, and there is not a loose thread anywhere. The lining is properly finished at the armholes too. Nothing to fix.

      Scarf goes underneath
      Fitz

      Verified buyer

Because the collar is a proper notch rather than something high and closed, a scarf sits under it and stays put instead of riding up round your chin. I wear a thick one all winter and it has never been a fight. Sounds obvious and half my old coats got it wrong.

      Warmer than the length suggests
      Gaz

      Verified buyer

You would think losing the bottom third of a coat would cost you a lot of warmth and it barely does, because most of what you lose is around the shins and your legs are moving anyway. The cloth is thick enough that the top half of you is properly covered. I have been out in it for a couple of hours at a time in real cold with a jumper underneath and been comfortable.

      Unusual to find one there
      Clifton Mardle

      Verified buyer

There is a welt pocket on the chest, which you almost never get on a coat at this price and I did not spot it in the photographs. Handy for a phone when you are wearing gloves and do not want to dig into the side pockets. Small thing that says somebody was paying attention.

      Takes a jacket underneath
      Dougal Weatherhead

      Verified buyer

This was the whole reason I wanted a relaxed cut. A suit jacket goes under it with room to spare and nothing bunches at the shoulders or pulls at the armhole, which is where most coats fail that test. I wear it over a suit three days a week and over a jumper the rest of the time and it works both ways without looking like it was made for the other one.

      Cuffs past the wrist
      Sid

      Verified buyer

Sleeves come down over the hand a bit more than I would like, about an inch past the wrist bone. On a relaxed coat that is probably intentional and turning them back once sorts it, which is what I do. If you have short arms factor in either turning them or a trip to a tailor.

      Dad had one
      Kel

      Verified buyer

My father wore a coat almost exactly like this for the whole of the eighties and I can picture him in it standing at a bus stop. Bought this without really admitting to myself that was why. It is a bit unsettling putting it on because I look like him in the hall mirror, but I have made my peace with that and he would have approved of the price. He would also have said it was too loose.

      Son starting work
      Cassia Mireles

      Verified buyer

Bought it for my son who has just started his first proper job and owned nothing between a parka and nothing at all. He was polite about it when he opened it and I could tell he was not sure. Two weeks later he rang to say three people at work had asked him about it. He is now wearing it to things he does not need a coat for. The relaxed fit means he will still get into it.

      Gloves fit the pockets
      Fenton Braid

      Verified buyer

The two flap pockets are deep and wide enough that a pair of gloves goes in alongside a phone without either of them working their way out. I lose gloves constantly and I have not lost one since October, which I am putting down to the pockets rather than any improvment in me.

      5
      How many buttons
      Kelvin Osmond

      Verified buyer

Three down the front and you can do all of them up or leave the bottom one, both of which look right. I usually leave it open now. Good either way.

      4
      Wide across the top
      Redvers Colley

      Verified buyer

The shoulders sit wider than my own by a fair margin, which is part of the relaxed cut and looks deliberate on a bigger frame. I am narrow up there and on me it reads a bit borrowed. If you are slim through the shoulders be aware it will hang off you. Its the one thing I would change.
