Women's Maroon Waxed Leather Cropped Jacket

I caught it on a door handle in the first week and had a small scratch across one sleeve. Rubbed it with my thumb for about ten seconds and it more or less vanished. Thats when I stopped being precious about wearing it. Fits my usual size and it's been comfortable ever since it softened up.

I put this away over the summer and was slightly worried about getting it back out in September. Hung it in a cotton cover rather than plastic on the advice of a friend and it came out exactly as I left it, no marks, no stiffness from sitting unused. That was the thing I'd wondered about most with something waxed. It's now on its second autumn and still going strong with no thinning at the cuffs.

I emailed to ask whether I should be putting any kind of balm on it and someone came back explaining that I didn't need to and just to wipe it down if it got wet. That was more useful than being sold something. Nine months on I've done exactly that and nothing has dried out or cracked. It's softened considerably at the elbows and the finish has come up nicely where it gets handled most.

Came earlier than the estimate and fit me right away with nothing at all to adjust. Firm for the first few days and then it settled properly. It's been on most days since it arrived.

I only ever bought secondhand before this because I couldn't justify new, and I'd got used to things arriving with someone else's wear already in them. This is the first one I've broken in myself and it's a completely different experience. It took about two weeks to stop feeling rigid and now it moves exactly how I want. Seven months in and the marks on it are all mine, which I like more than I expected to.

The make of it is fine, the seams are neat and the hardware feels solid. My problem is the length. I'm long through the torso and it finishes higher on me than I can wear comfortably, so there's a gap I'm always aware of. Sent it back and the refund came in about a week without any argument from anyone.

The two way zip is the bit I didn't know I needed. Being able to open it from the bottom when I'm sitting at a desk means I actually keep it on rather than taking it off and forgetting it somewhere. Fits true to my usual size and it softened after about a week.
