Men's Washed Cognac Leather Harrington Jacket

I asked whether the wax would rub off onto shirt cuffs and got a straight answer, which was no once it settles. Three months on and no marks on anything. That kind of honest reply is why I ordered from here.

Ordered after a friend showed me his, which was about two years old and looked better than anything new I had seen. That decided it for me. Mine arrived quickly, fit as the chart said it would, and is already starting to go the same way at the elbows. The wax clearly does something to the leather that a plain dye simply does not.

I was sceptical about anything described as washed or distressed because it usually means a print rather than a real finish. This is not printed. The variation goes into the leather itself and shifts when the jacket moves. The fit is straight rather than slim, it was comfortable from the first hour, and the shoulders have not stretched at all in three months of wear.

I went for brown over black because I already own two black jackets and wanted something that did not look the same. This was the right decision. The washed finish gives it depth so it reads as worn in rather than new. Fit is straight through the body with enough room for a shirt, sleeves land at the wrist, and five months in the wax has softened where I move most.

Third purchase from here and the fit has never once surprised me. This one is the most casual of the three and gets the most use by a distance. Nothing has come loose, no pulled threads, and the zip still runs cleanly.

Long term note, about eleven months now. The cuffs and elbows have gone lighter and the colour has developed in a way that looks intentional. No cracking, the lining is intact, and the zip has never caught once. I have had it rained on repeatedly and it has never marked. I would buy exactly the same one again if this one ever disappeared.

One thing to know is that the finish picks up handling marks in the first couple of weeks and then stops. I nearly panicked early on. They settle into the surface and now you cannot see a single one of them at all.

Wore it through a cold week of walking to work and it cut the wind better than my old fabric jacket did. Not warm on its own but it does that one job well.
